Dry-Type Isolation Transformers,
Epoxy Resin, and Reactors

Argentine manufacturer with over 60 years of experience. Specialists in dry-type insulation, epoxy resin-cast, and power reactors. Solutions up to 10,000 kVA compliant with IRAM, IEC, and ANSI standards. Reliable, custom-engineered solutions.

Low Voltage Transformers

Our Low Voltage (LV) units are recognized for their versatility. We offer vacuum-impregnated or cast-resin equipment, ideal for voltage adaptation in industrial plants and commercial centers. Thanks to our local engineering, we enable the Parallel Connection of units to expand power capacity without compromising system stability.

Technical and Engineering Specifications

  • Power ratings up to 1,000 kVA
  • Nominal voltages up to 1.1 kV.
  • Aluminum or copper windings, Class F and H.
  • Compliant with IRAM, IEC, and ANSI standards.

Dry-Type Reactors

At MIRON, we design and manufacture dry-type reactors for critical applications in the electrical grid. Whether for short-circuit current limitation, harmonic filtering, or reactive power compensation, our equipment is custom-engineered for each project. We utilize air-core technology to guarantee total linearity under overcurrent conditions, or iron-core designs for maximum compactness, always under certified processes that ensure an extended service life.

Technical and Engineering Specifications

  • Nominal voltages up to 36 kV.

  • Copper or aluminum windings, Class F and H.

  • Single-phase or three-phase.

Protection and Thermal Monitoring Systems

The reliability of a MIRON dry-type transformer is enhanced by our integrated accessories, designed for smart load management. We offer temperature control units from the PROTECAT line, featuring industrial communication for telemetry, and forced-air ventilation systems that safely increase power capacity (AF). Additionally, we provide enclosures with the necessary IP protection rating to guarantee the equipment's integrity in any installation environment.

Available Accessories:

  • Protection Enclosures.
  • Temperature Control Unit (PROTECAT TH104BUS).
  • Ventilation Control Unit (TH2I2).
  • Forced Ventilation.
  • Surge Arresters.

Dry-Type Transformer Repair and Testing Center

As direct manufacturers (Electromecánica Brenta S.A.), we develop special transformers (six-phase and twelve-phase for rectifiers) that comply with international standards: ANSI, IEEE, and NEMA. Our design capability allows us to optimize Polarization and Absorption Indexes, ensuring an extended service life even under the most severe operating conditions.

Especificaciones del Servicio:

  • Scope: Repair of Medium and Low Voltage windings.
  • Testing: Dielectric strength and polarization index testing.
  • Warranty: Backed by the MIRON factory warranty on all performed work.
  • Location: All processes are carried out entirely in Argentina.

Technical Inquiries on Dry-Type Insulation Solutions

What is the service life of a MIRON dry-type transformer?
Designed compliant with international standards and paired with basic preventive maintenance, the service life of our transformers exceeds 25–30 years. This is made possible by the high thermal stability of our cast resin and compliance with the manufacturing standards of Electromecánica Brenta S.A.
What maintenance do cast resin transformers require?
Unlike oil-filled equipment, maintenance is minimal. It focuses on periodic visual inspections, cleaning the resin columns to prevent tracking (conductive paths) due to dust accumulation, and torque control on electrical connections to prevent hot spots.
Can dry-type transformers be installed outdoors?
Yes, it is possible provided that the transformer is housed in a protective enclosure (Housing) with the appropriate IP (Ingress Protection) rating. This guarantees protection against weather conditions and environmental particulate matter, maintaining the dielectric integrity of the equipment.
Why choose epoxy resin over other types of insulation?
Epoxy resin encapsulates the windings under vacuum conditions, eliminating moisture and air. This reduces partial discharges, improves mechanical strength, and makes the equipment fully fire-retardant and self-extinguishing under IEC 60076-11 standards.
What is the purpose of the forced-air ventilation system?
Forced-air ventilation allows a temporary increase in the transformer's nominal power by 25% to 40%. It is essential for managing peak demands without compromising the service life of the equipment's Class F or H insulation.

With over 60 years of experience and ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, we guarantee reliable and efficient products, complying with the highest safety and environmental standards.
